Call for Papers: Paranthropology Vol. 3 No. 1 (January 2012)

Submissions are now open for the January 2012 issue of "Paranthropology: Journal of Anthropological Approaches to the Paranormal" (Vol. 3 No. 1). Articles can be on any topic relating to:

Paranormal/Supernatural/Spiritual/Religious belief/experience
Magic, Parapsychology, Afterlife Research, etc.
Mediumship, Shamanism, Occultism, etc.
Psychedelic experience
Extraordinary encounters in the field (particularly focussing on the ethnographic interpretation and presentation of extraordinary experiences)
General issues in the anthropology of consciousness and experience... Amongst others...

Although anthropological and ethnographic approaches are central to the journal, we also welcome contributions from other disciplines including folklore, history, sociology, psychology, parapsychology and indeed any discipline which has an interesting contribution to make.

If you have an idea for an article that you think would be suitable for the publication, or have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the editor via discarnates@googlemail.com

Articles should be written in an academic, though accessible style, and should utilise the Harvard referencing system (for information visit http://paranthropologyjournal.weebly.com/submit.html). All articles should be submitted no later than December 15th so that they have enough time to go through the peer-review process.

Parapsychological Association Conference - Call for Papers

54th Annual Parapsychological Association Convention
Curitiba, Brazil
August 18-21, 2011
The 54th Annual Convention of the Parapsychological Association (PA) will be held from Thursday August 18th, through Sunday August 21st, 2011, in Curitiba, Brazil.
The deadline for the receipt of all submissions is Monday April 11, 2011. Submissions received after this date will be considered only in exceptional circumstances. Abstracts of all accepted submissions other than workshops will be included in the convention booklet, provided that they are received before the deadline.

All submissions to the 2011 PA convention, except proposed workshops, must be submitted electronically. They should be emailed as attachments, to the chair of the Program Committee, Dr. Marios Kittenis, at m.kittenis@aston.ac.uk.
