Talking With The Spirits - Interview...

Here is a short film that I edited together from an interview conducted a week or so ago with Christine Di Nucci, the founder of the Bristol Spirit Lodge; the venue at which I conducted my dissertation fieldwork.

Due to a change of circumstance interviews with mediums and sitters will now likely be in audio format.

More news to come...

  3. Good stuff. An interesting presentation of it - as the way you have presented it is very much a sort of 'mechanics of it' approach - this is how she organises her seances and her explanations of that. It is very nice to see that being done without some voiceover or non-believing interviewer adding in their own uninformed comments! All the best with your research.

  4. Hi,

Yeah. I'm very interested in the way that these things are understood to work by those who engage with them, and also in the sensations associated with these processes. I think that if we can gain gain an understanding of the processes understood to be involved we can come closer to understanding the logic of the belief system.

  5. From a spiritual perspective, these kind of things (speaking to the dead, seeing ghosts, etc) are often rather pointless and have nothing to do with spirituality. What this is, is simply communication with people. They may be dead, but its no more particular than that.

Its just dead people who have (a lot of time) not developed themselves enough to go further so they are basically stuck in a middle plane of existance. There is nothing extraordinary with this.

Has nothing to do with spirituality.

  6. Very cool. But it will vastly improve the watching experience if you can get professional audio recording. There is a lot of hiss on the audio, and very low levels of volume, making for a problematic viewing experience. Very fascinating subject, you could remedy the sound issues with even a few moderate changes in recording. Digital recording is very cheap now, and even a simple decent lapel mic will really help.

    Thanks, will keep tuning in.
